Who We Are?

The Foundation for Education and Social Development (FESODEV) is a Malawian non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 1999, dedicated to transforming lives through education, skills development, and community empowerment. For over two decades, FESODEV has worked with youth, women, and vulnerable communities to create sustainable opportunities that foster self-reliance, dignity, and hope.

We believe that lasting change begins when people are equipped with the right knowledge, tools, and opportunities.
That’s why our programs focus on practical vocational skills, micro-enterprise development, gender empowerment, agriculture, and community health — enabling people to lift themselves out of poverty.

Vocational Skills Training

Empowering youth and women with hands-on, market-oriented skills for self-employment and economic independence.

Tailoring & Fashion Design, Carpentry & Joinery, Electrical & Solar Installation, Hairdressing & Cosmetology, Plumbing & Decoration.

Women & Youth Economic Empowerment

Promoting financial inclusion and entrepreneurship through microfinance, savings groups, and small business development.
Focus Areas:
Small business loans, financial literacy, business mentorship, and cooperative development.

Girls’ Empowerment & Education

Building confidence, leadership, and educational opportunities for girls and young women.
Program Highlights:
Health and hygiene education, life skills training, mentorship, and campaigns against early marriage.

Agriculture & Food Security

Enhancing rural livelihoods through sustainable farming, irrigation, and climate-smart agricultural practices.
Activities Include:
Farmer training, seed and tool support, small-scale irrigation systems, and nutrition improvement.

Social Development & Health Programs

Creating healthier, more resilient communities through education, health, and environmental initiatives.

Environmental Management & Climate Action

Leadership & Governance Development

Tracking progress and improving program quality through data, feedback, and impact assessment.
Activities Include:
Field monitoring, data collection, performance evaluation, and knowledge sharing.

Humanitarian Support & Relief Programs

Providing support to vulnerable households affected by crises such as floods, droughts, or pandemics.
Activities Include:
Emergency relief aid, psychosocial support, and community rebuilding initiatives.
